I had been a runner for most of my life and opposed to the gym or classes at the gym (I always felt so lost with all those coordinated moves during step aerobics!!!). Then three years ago, something changed. I found an incredible community (my Gym Crew!!) and met my fitness hero, Tricia Murphy Madden. The combination of these two things changed my perspective entirely on fitness and group fitness classes.
In my teenage years, fitness meant staying fit enough to be faster and better than the next girl to earn a starting position on the Varsity Lacrosse team. In my 20s, fitness meant staying fit to look good. In my 30s, fitness meant working to lose the post pregnancy weight (no one tells you that can take years!!!). But now, as I enter my last year in my 30s, fitness means being strong. Strong physically, strong mentally and strong emotionally. This site captures a bit of my journey to finding a stronger me and hopefully helps a few of you find your own 'happy fitness place'.
This blog is dedicated to the women in my life who constantly push me to be my best - both in and out of the gym.
